Anyone got any experience?
Its not a full on 12hr race, but a race over 12hrs (starts sat, stops for the night then carries on all next day)
I'm looking at Class A - 1600cc for the Mini, do you know if they'd allow 1600cc turbos in that class or is it 1600 NA. Im not thinking of turboing, just interested in the class make up.

I had a couple of friends do it last year in the KC Motorsport team. I think they came second in class and they had a fantastic time. It took a month or two for the smiles to disappear from their faces. _________________ R600 Dubaru

Mark - check your email lol
Unless I'm emailing an old account
Lowell - you'd have to beg for invitation class in your bathtub!
Low stress NA is the way.
3 or 4 drivers?! We can have a fee... maybes :S _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

there's no way I would enter my car in its current state, standard 2.0 potentially..
It would be factory engines I would imagine.
4 drivers would be best. _________________ Motorsport Exige Project Thread |

The C1 Endurance Racing class looks interesting. Cheaper than MINIs or Fiestas. _________________ Renny

Now there's a thought! How experienced would your team need to be? I'd be up for it. As said above some friends did it last year - one was 16 and the other a complete novice (just passed his ARDS)! I'm not sure how much luck played a part in their second place in the BMW, but a cautious approach may have had something to do with it. _________________ R600 Dubaru

I've done it twice now, it's great fun. If you can get an entry then go for it!
Night racing is a very different experience to the daylight, and night racing in the wet when one of the invitational class cars has just passed you and blinded you with spray so you can't see the turn in point for the almost flat turn 3 while another invitational class car is coming up behind and you can't tell if he has dived down the inside or not because his LEDs are blinding you so you just turn in anyway is an even more different and exciting experience!
You don't need 4 drivers though, first year we did it we did the 9 hours with 3 drivers and last year we did the 9 hours with 2 drivers. Its 12 hours this year so you could use 3 if you wanted but the more drivers the more it becomes difficult with pitstops because you have to try and share the driving more fairly rather than just stopping at what is strategically best with safety cars etc.
But the main point is do it!!! _________________ https://www.facebook.com/AWinchesterRace

4 just feels a better number...
David - Lowell doesnt have his race licence yet, so would consider him a novice, and he'd need a novice X on the back. More than welcome to join in. If you fancy it I can fwd on the discussions to date.
Myself and Mark Dawson are the other two.
Not looking for manic speed, more steady and reliable. <keep telling myself that>
I've driven brands in the dark (and wet) and its an eye opener, but you soon get used to it. Can take steps to help with glare, as well as extra lights to help spot apex. All 4 wouldnt need to drive in dark. _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC
