well i thought id put up a wee thread of what ive been doing to my 106 so far.
some of u may remember some of my previous cars that have been on a few trackscotland trackdays
106 gti 155bhp
106 s1 rallye 16v throttle bodied 170bhp
sold the first one as it was my daily driver and decided to be sensible and bought an ibiza cupra 20vt. did a few mods as u do and this is the way it is just now
but after a short period of time i realised i still needed a track car so me and one of my mates built the s1 rallye from bog standard spec.
after few trackdays i wanted more power so we decided to sell the s1 rallye and buy our own track cars
one of my mates was selling his 106 gti turbo so thought why not! this was a budget spec low boost conversion comprising of -:
5th fuel injector
decompression plate to lower cr ratio
t25 turbo
evo intercooler
running 0.7bar @ approx 190-200bhp
first changes were -:
new boost pipes
fmic
306 gti cyclone alloys
a048's
new bumper
new bonnet
full rollcage
whilst being out on track day above an oil hose split and poured out the oil = seized bottom end!
so was time for engine out
new parts -:
51k 16v engine
new gaskets, t/belt, bolts etc
24mm rear arb
speedline comp 2's
leda front coilovers
avo adjustable rears
hi spec 4 pot calipers
full mocal oil filter relocation kit
new wishbones
new driveshafts
new droplinks
was back out again with it on another trackday and had issues with cooling/overheating so decided id had enough of budget boost so all the turbo setup was sold and in its place was -:
omega low comp pistons
KMS standalone with display/wideband
pico 480cc injectors
QEP big valve head
kent PT51 cams
GMC/pace alloy rad/intercooler setup
samco blue boost pipes
cobra imola seats with side mounts
omp 300mm suade steering wheel
heat wrapped manifold
team dynamics motorsport alloys (road wheels)
bosch 044 fuel pump
alloy fuel swirl pot
comp brake solid top mounts
sump baffle
new oil pump
and the all important part - rotrex 30-74 charger kit
the car is running on standard ecu, injectors and fueling. charger is of it at the moment as was doing the miles to bed in rings. got the car road legal so have been using as a daily driver up till last week as the ibiza required a gearbox.
so this is the stage im at. car is currently off the road now and im away to start converting across to supercharged, hopefully done soon but have just bought a house so will move into that first then focus on finishing the car _________________ 1992 peugeot 205 2.0 8v turbo |

Wimp!!
There's no better way to bed in the rings than having 14PSI of boost from the off
Looking pretty nice and clean. I'm impressed.
Look forward to riding shotgun at the next trackday you make. At least you aren't taking 3 years to get it finished like some other people with boosted 106's.....

Haha, hopefully your car will go a bit quicker than the speed it was built at
You put a whole new meaning to that phrase
I am expecting you to make at least one trackday this year. Will be interesting to see how Mr Gs charged pug fair against your banana with the far superior blower. |

| I'd have to go with black beauty purely due to past performances. |
