Looks like after 4 laps on Saturday, my GT3071 turbo has burst an oil seal or worse
Lots of blue smoke out the exhaust on lift off at the end of the straights, ok on tickover and static rev and seems to be spooling still.
So prime suspect is the turbo.
What's peeps recommendations on rebuilders?

Are you sure it's the turbo ? 2 years ago a garage told me my turbo was gone when in actual fact it was a piston failure. I might have wasted £400 on them when the turbo was fine, and still is. _________________ Find me on Facebook @ www.facebook.com/ChicanePhoto |

No, not sure at all. I'm hoping I'll know more once I get the turbo off, oil in the inlet would mean block, otherwise turbo..... any way to check the block without dismantling? |

Above^ I had one done on mine and cylinder 2 and 3 were down about 40% to the other 2. When the engine was stripped the piston in cylinder 2 had this
Which I then discovered was a very common engine fault for the ST205. Luckily for me there was no block damage and I caught it early. I had engine oil coming out the dump valve during a trackday with TS. _________________ Find me on Facebook @ www.facebook.com/ChicanePhoto |

This sounds like what happened to my car, and two pistons were shot........... I used a bore scope to check my motor.
Hope it is just the turbo and not the engine.

I was following you round at the start and certainly saw all the smoke. I looked for you in the pits to let you know but I guess you had spotted it yourself and gone off to the paddock.
It must've been during the prasctice laps, as it's not in my vids. _________________
