it was built for rally cars and took a hot rod. I know colin white who races ginettas has a similar bus

reckon you would need a LGV2 license for it and if need be you can get a trailer for adam's car

Something worth noting;
If you plan on using ferrys etc to go anywhere else then you will be charged commercial rates if van is over 5m whereas any van under 5m (swb) is charged car rates. Confused

Unless your van is a camperan/motorhome...

My van is registered as a campervan. Smile

Decent awnings from the likes of the awning company are an absolute fortune Smile

Claire has a ford Kuga (4wd version, with the 167 diseasal) we got it because it has the largest towing capacity in its range, pulled the M3 no bother, I've towed quite a lot with it and had no issues.

IMO the Best VFM in our budget.

I've towed the Pulsar with my BMW X3 (3.0D M Sport), nae bother whatsoever Very Happy

My in laws have a Tiguan & had nothing but trouble with it. Been off the road for several long periods while an ECU issue was investigated....plus the interior is poor quality compared to Passat level & above in the VW range.

I'm looking for a 2-3yr old Touareg...

We have a Tiguan as a pool car at work,

I've driven it to Newcastle and back from Aberdeen on a number of occasions.

In short. its shite. interior is far worse than the Kuga, the handling is worse and its uncomfortable as feck.

would not buy one!

Yeh the Kuga is something like 2100kg towing capacity, is that for 2wd or 4wd though?

Another one that caught my eye (for price) is Vauxhall Antara's - 2000kg towing. Any verdicts?

Aye - Ours in 4wd, 2100KG capacity, I wasn't interested in the 2wd tbh, I don't like towing with FWD cars.

soo I have a stupid spreadsheet of cars and given the trailer is 500kg and car is 1000kg-ish (with driver/fluids minimum weight in championship is 1075kg) then in theory any car that can tow 1800kg would do. If we look at the 85% match stuff (on say 1700Kg to account for stuff) that means you need a car to weigh 1530kg. Which even a Qashqai could do (1960kg).

though even though I said no stupid cars... I did go to Andrew morrisons land rover garage and look at a discovery sport - oh my. But with online discounts can easily get a Tucson(2200kg tow...)/cx5/xtrail/kuga for about 15k less.

I see to spend my life considering car options currently.
