At the last SLS I noticed that my discs area showing a fair amount of heat cracks on my KSport discs. I have had heat cracks on previous brake setups that resulted in brake judder, so I replaced them when that happened.

When it comes to heat cracks at what point should the disc's be changed?

When they propagate out to the edges and cause splits.

I've seen this on a fair few sets of discs now, normally after use on longer circuits (Silverstone, Snetterton). Only ever had it happen to 1 KSport disc though.

Both of ours have lots of small 'cracks' about 5mm long, but none are on the outer edge.

Any pics?

Sorry I edited my post probably as you were typing. Pic added.

I had a quick look around the paddock and most other peoples discs looked broadly similar.

In general, surface cracks = normal, just keep an eye on them, particularly on the inside of the disc as it's harder to inspect.

Anything that get close to or penetrates the edge or develops a noticeable lip, as AK says, bin.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye on them. I need to take my brakes apart anyway as I had come crap in there after my visit to the gravel.
