I recently bought a 2005 Nissan Elgrand JDM import to use as my new daily and support car for SLS. Its huge, comfy, well spec'd and fast for a heavy people carrier. Its the 3.5 V6 VQ35DE engine with 2WD/4WD.

My 5th gen Honda Prelude road car is off the road at the moment and I didn't want to risk the track car. My mates were going to Crail so I took this for a laugh. In the wet with a full tank of fuel and a passenger it ran 16.9s.

Just bought one of these too for the same reasons. I have 2.5 V6 so very slow but I didnt buy speed. It rolls a lot so changing to bigger wheels this weekend hoping stiffer sidewalls will help. I dont want to go further as I like the suspension softness. Unfortunately it seems we cant do much to use big screen satnav etc but still good to look at.

I am ripping the OEM stereo out and putting my own one in there so I will be able to make use of the front and rear screens for movies. I do not feel that I get much body roll in my one. Since my Elgrand is the facelift model (post 2004) I have the parking camera in the passenger wing mirror which displays on the main screen, as well as the rear parking camera.

Interested to hear how you get on with that and what gear you use. My car is same model year 2005. Amazing seating. I took six out for lunch at the weekend just to use the seats. Pm me when you've done the conversion please. Alex

I have all the bits except the stereo. I had to buy a double din surround from Nissan in Japan (since the Elgrand is only sold there) and some Nissan to ISO converter cables.
