This isn't going to turn into an out and out track thread so people might be disappointed Laughing

A few of you will know that finally last week I sat and passed my driving test (first time 3 minors) and today I made the trip down to Southampton to get my car. Was in the perfect spec I wanted with the multi function steering wheel( only one I seen for sale with one and it was a mod I had planned) rear sensors and the sat nav/Bluetooth thing with a 1.6TDi 105bhp engine and fitted with sports suspension so already lowered 20mm.

Sadly my local skoda garage refused to ship it up hence the 7am flght this morning to go down and get it.

Booked in at Awesome GTi on Monday to see how much it really makes and no doubt there will be some mods happening to it at some point but will no doubt be OEM+ rather than a trackcar.

Stopped off at Funk Motorsport in London on the way up and got the drl and fog lights changed to yellow. Get service by Ryan even though I was about an hour late and pouring rain he was still happy to do it. He's the sole uk dealer for lamin x tints so if anyone needs any he is your man.

Proper thick stuff as well and comes with a 5 year guarantee as well.

He also mentioned he's supplied some stuff before to folk competeing in SLS.

Cheers Gary, still getting used to it. Had never driven a diesel before and didn't test drive it Shocked just turned up signed the papers and chucked me the keys Laughing

I've had the traction control kick in a couple of times when pulling away still thinking I'm driving my swift sport learner car and it feels like the engine mounts are going to explode Shocked

Fitted a TDi badge to the front too

Currently at Awesome GTi in Manchester.

Stock car is 103bhp and 185ft lbs mine made 114bhp and 201ft lbs

Had an incident on the way across though. A truck knocked a cone into my path and I hit it Crying or Very sad

Dented the bonnet, marked the bonnet, bumper and door and even though it hit on left hand side it also broke the right drl.

The guys at Awesome managed to fix the light and repair the undertray and got rid of the marks. Will need to sort the dent when I'm home.

If anyone has suggestions for anyone in south lanarkshire let me know.

I know gutted doesn't even cover it.

It goes up to the crease on the bonnet but doesn't go over it so hopefully it will pop out.

Last i've heard of the cars

White evo 5, bought by the guys that run liviautoparts

yellow evo 5, bought by one of tony galloway's friends

evo 7, bought by john grant resprayed blue then was sold to someone in ether austria or switzerland and is now getting used in hill climbs.

white x , sold to a guy that lives near donington park, still shows up at track days there.

blue x in storage still owned by laura/emma bruce.

So had the car 3 weeks on saturday and so far i've managed to cover over 2000 miles Shocked

Thought i hadn't taken any proper pics of the car yet so got the car washed this morning and headed out to get some pics, the cleaness didn't last very long.

Did a couple of under bonnet things that i will not doubt get slagged for Laughing

Coolant cap from a Porsche 911

Oil cap from an Audi R8

they were cheap Laughing

Also fitted jacking points from a MK1 TT

Got some gas struts for the bonnet fitted today pretty simple to fit took about 15 min although my bonnet seems to sit slightly higher on the left when the bonnet is down yet flush on the right?

Thought it was maybe resting on the yellow slot so removed it and still the same.

Anyone with any ideas?

put some thing where you think its catching... something that will deform (leave a mark on) or something that will leave a splodge of colour....

I owe you a drink sir!

It was the original bonnet strut the you pull down to hold the bonnet open was resting on the gas strut.

Took it off and now it's flush.
