hi all, been watching from the sidelines for a while and thought it was about time i introduced myself on here, been doing trackdays for 10/12 years or so now but really fancy taking up real motorsport. just sat my A.R.D.S a couple of weeks ago and quite fancy a shot at the sports cars and saloons in 2013. im lucky enough to have two cars to choose from, i have a ford racing puma fitted with a focus rs engine thats currently having some more go faster bits bolted on, or i have my old faithful 2.0 n/a race engined wide arched nova (dont judge me for it) thats having an engine refresh. just cant decide what car to go with and into what class. but anyway, hello!

hi, yes its the red nova, ive had it for about 8 years and its been through a few facelifts over the years. here is a wee link to a feature on it about 4 years ago. http://www.fastcar.co.uk/201/07/26/modified-vauxhall-nova-2 dont know if links work on here? and the puma was featured in fast ford a couple of months back. heres a wee link to a picture from the feature http://sg.zinio.com/sitemap/Automotive-magazines/Fast-Ford/September-2012/cat1960016/is-416233234/pg-65. they are both good fun cars at knockhill.

Welcome. Smile

2050cc might be a bit big for the 2.0 class so you might have to use the puma.

Welcome.

Nova is stunning, I read that fast ford with the puma Thumbs Up

I haven't heard yet if 50cc over bores are allowed but I'm all for it, more the merrier. You might struggle with the arches though and maybe the door bars.

i think after a quick chat with graham brunton from s.m.r.c a few weeks ago, they have to allow up to that to cover an engine re-build or two. thats how mine ended up at 2050cc. but ill see how it goes once all the regs are finalised.

i know the arches will prob need to be changed back to metal and its now got a full weld in custom cages cage fitted anyway, with real door bars. the cage in the old picture was made by a guy who used to do the stock cars. it served it purpose at the time.

Seen the puma out before. Looks very nice! I'd like to see that in SMRC but if it was me, I'd enter the nova until you see how it goes.

Welcome by the way.
