Latest version of sim rig that I've been cobbling together for about 7 years. I'm thinking about simvibe and/or motion simulator next.
Nixim Racecraft GT Cockpit, c/w uprated castors
Cobra Daytona seat (reclines which is nice)
Fanatec Clubsport Wheel base with BMW and Formula RIM
Fanatec Clubsport V1 pedals
SRH Dash with SLI-Pro
SST Lightning H-shifter
3x 24" Dell 2408WFP monitors @ 5760 x 1200
Ergotech triple monitor stand
i5-3570K@3.4GHz, 16G RAM, GTX 670
Astro A50 headset (waste of money)

Looks awesome fella!
Ive got an old intel quad pc with a nice graphics card connected up to the surround system and big tv in the livingroom, screens a little far away for proper immersion but I can live with that. The next thing is really to sort out the driving position, the sofa is FAR from ok! |

You are welcome anytime AK, at least my gearbox will be safe!
Alisitair, this set-up doesn't make me any quicker unfortunately, but it's the immersion I'm after really. It's still feels naff all like driving a real car round a track though. Mind you I get exactly the same nervous feeling starting an online race as I do a real race. The online racing is as competitive as the real thing. I suck at both real and sim racing so there has to be similarities!
Only issue with using a TV is apparently the input lag with the controls due to TV's response time, otherwise I'd likely have 3 x 60" TV screens |

Great set-up Struan, love it. Could buy a few XR2's for the cost of that!
You need to get that i5 clocked up a bit, can do much more than 3.4Ghz even on the stock cooler. Would compliment the 670 too. _________________ MD Racing

Never looked at this part of the forum till tonight as not a gamer at all, whole playstation generation passed me by if I'm honest, but well impressed with your set-up Struan. Could be persuaded to get into it if I had this in the spare room |
