I can guess there are a few racers on here, so a good place to ask.
Is it worth the money? _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

I think you have to really dedicate yourself to it and have a really good setup (wheel etc) to get the most out of it. Must be worth it eventually as the real racing drivers race online with it, but if you're a playstation xbox racer then I think it'd piss you off too much to get into it _________________ Ford Mondeo ST Tdci wagon

I think its worth it, you have to get into it though.
Yes you start with the MX5 and limited tracks think its lime rock or something, its got a good system...
When you start your profile will be the lowest rank so you will be chucked in races with other bad profile drivers i found after a few races finishing mid pack keeping it clean not writting the car of or making contact i started getting slotted into races with like minded people.
I had some pretty intense and great races in the mx5's started winning a few and got my license upgraded i then was able to race with the Radical/xrt on rockingham had to start the learning curve all over again.
I think its the only platform that eventually keeps the tw&ts racing there own race...
Keep clean racing (dont need to be winning) and your license will continue to upgrade eventually into F1 pit stops etc..
Iv given up with racing on consoles _________________ YouTube Channel |

yup, thats my main gripe with the likes of GT on the PS.... you get biffed all over the place
Those races we had last year were pretty damn good though. _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

You need to stick with iracing. Get out of the rookie licences and then it gets better. The best plan is to hang around at the back and avoid the crap and get your rating up.
Ive been racing the GT3s etc and having great fun. Sadly I haven't had the time to do much lately. Almost to the point I've considered selling my kit _________________ Never trust a man that when left in a room on his own with a tea cosy, doesnt try it on. |

I would like to try it with a really good wheel like a GT27 and see what it's like.
I have a Logitech GT wheel for Gran Turismo. I fiddled with the settings constantly and looked at lots of forums online to get the right settings. Nothing seemed to be perfect - I got it so it was ok but it ranged from undrivable with the wrong settings to maybe twitchy with ok settings. The wheel settings seem to make a big difference to the handling of the car.
To be fair aswell - the Williams F1 car - round Oulton Park was EPIC! |

I might need to take back what I said about iRacing. I don't know if it's had an update or because I changed my PC to 64-bit and it's running the 64-bit version but it's totally different now.
They sent me a $5 for 3 month deal.
The wheel is working well, car is handling good, good races - still a few plonkers but can avoid them most of the time and let them fight with others. Building the score up to about 2.87 now. Bit addicted to it. |

It is hard to get into its been 5 years since i last used it (as i have no where for a set up at the moment)
Stick with it for a little bit and the match making system will slot you in with like minded racers. after a while i couldnt get enough of it excellent races _________________ YouTube Channel |

Drive like Ms Daisy to get your SR up to get out of Rookie the racing then it gets a bit better. Or do mind numbing time trials. Best way to do it is think that it is going to cost you ££ every time you have an incident, like the real world!
Can lend you my account if you want to try out other cars and tracks, I'm not using at the moment as PC is Knackered. I'll drop you a pm. _________________ My best attempt at a SMRC Race in a XR2, if only there was one more lap! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKEsh-m_y8s
