no strict requirement for headlights, but it is a good idea considering the type of weather we see up here Very Happy rain/fog/sleet/snow etc Have a think about small lightweight LED panels

Deff keep rear lights, esp a rain light. Brake lights are good for trackdays as some folk tend to judge braking by other folks brake lights rather than where they should brake!

thankfully in a caterham none of the fatties should be braking as late but yes keeping rears. I saw DCL had some snazzy LED lights on front of rollbar yet again have to bend his ear and look tomorrow night.

I wonder if could cheat slightly and look at some daytime running lights as cheap option as they can usually be pretty visible and honestly i wont be catching anyone on a straight Smile

something like http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/daytime-running-lights/simoni-racing-led-libra-day-light but cant appear to get lumens infomration need to do more digging

Mine were a panic buy on the eve of the last SLS as the weather looked ify. 23 from Maplin! http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/ring-automotive-daytime-styling-lamps-8-leds-ice-white-a51jh

I think there are better ones out there but they're better than nothing.

Yeh i dont want to go to some mad extreme spending money to get it lit up like a xmas tree but some level of lighting is useful. Will see your handy work tomorrow and add it to my winter to do list.

Just posted on fb Great fun this evening, didn't manage to string two clear laps together, always catching or being caught by others meant I was watching mirrors a lot. Managed a few of 60s odd laps but was just having fun. Can't wait for the next one.

Lovely weather for it.

I only did 4 laps to set up the brake bias & warm everything up for Sandy.
He did several laps at various speeds inc a couple of quick ones.

I fitted & switched on the Vbox but forgot to press the button to register the start line so it didn't work.

Result is I now have epic brakes, some cracking advice on things to do on set up & now a 3rd person has driven it & appreciates how f'in heavy/physical it is to throw round at speed.

New tyres to try too so if everything holds together a new PB is possible
Early night reading the glove box guide by Hamish
Very Happy

I'll need to buy a card reader now or is there a wire to connect the v box to a USB port like I do with the go pro?
Sorry I'm not as Trekkie as I used to be Laughing

they have a USB Type-B connector on the back, but unsure if you can read the cards from it. Its used for firmware upgrades..

you can update it to show predictive lap timing too by the way Very Happy

quick google shows you can DL data that way (box will need to be powered i presume)

Once you have finished the test, either plug the Performance Box into a PC via the USB cable provided, or remove the SD card and place it in a suitable reader

this is the connector from memory... digi camcorders used to use this type
