That theory works for me. Very few hold-ups on Sat night and I spent more time on track than I ever have done on a 2hr session before. I'd happily pay a few more quid to have less cars.

Agree with David's idea too, though not sure how 60's would work but I like the theory. Not a huge amount of regular customers will do sub-60's so it could almost become a "race car only" track day, which might not be a bad idea in itself.

was a weird night car wise. Think fastest were a GTR and Mark and then most people were in 1min+ territory

I don't think we'd ever restrict what cars (based on times) can be booked on - we need to get these sessions booked or it just doesn't work for us
We do try to keep the standards high though - so people in fast cars aren't bullies and people in slower cars don't feel under pressure

The thing is, you can have 10 cars booked on, on car spills oil half way round the track and that's 30 minutes of the session gone
You can have 30odd cars booked on, virtually no red flags (like there was on Saturday) and the event runs smoothly

It's just hit and miss

None that I can remember, just David, Andy and myself in "race" cars.

ill be honest since going racing - I feel more aggressive on track Surprised

or perhaps just more confident since doing testing days where cars are passing all time on all sides. makes you more aware

yeah great night, much appreciated for organizing fee! Andy bell i need to try to follow you next time out! i think you are that wee bit quicker than me so would be good to follow a similar car to see where i can make up time! I was going to come over and say hi but in the end i had loads of mates turn up for passenger rides so spend the whole evening doing that (which was still really fun!)

Cheers Paul

many thanks Andy

I will go to the last 2 track Scotland days on the 10th of September and the 21st of October. need as much practice as possible if i am going to compete in SLS next year! each time i go i am getting better and realize that i can push more and get on the gas earlier out of the turns.lines are getting better also. still struggle with the bloody hairpin! am currently on toyo R1r's so good tyres but hoping to gain some time with a switch to 888's. still a long way off class winning times in SLS! Smile

I'd be happy to pay more if the quality track time was there.

How about an 'under sixty' night (or 'over sixty' for that matter) once in a while. It's nice about being out with cars of similar pace.

I totally agree. It's never fun trying to find space to string a few laps together with some cars doing 70/80 secs and some doing 50-somethings

This could work as a 4 hour session, split into two.
Price is much lower for a 4 hour session than 2x2 hours right?
And you could have only 25 cars for 2 hours each, thus 50 cars, and easily pay for 4 hours, I THINK.

I just need to do a 59.99 now.

aargh.

that's me on the 10th September so feel free to come over have a chat - 4hr session is so chilled Smile With luck can get the speedo fixed (not that I use it) and OLED buttons working.

Oh and possibly HANS figured :p

Could you just do sessions instead of open pit ? 15 or 20 min sessions for under / over 60 sec cars. HH do it with road and track cars up to and over certain hp, seems to work pretty well for the same reasons, most sessions have cars running at similar pace .

Strangely, not really Laughing

In the past when we have done a 4hr evening session its calculated at the same price as 2x2hrs.
