As some may have read on FB last night.... Andy had some tuition with Rory Butcher, this included Rory driving the car.

Dont know exactly how quick... but from the info Andy posted he did a sub 49 <or quicker than he's done before.. which was a 49>.... and Rory did a 48 on his second lap in the car :O

Anyone know just how quick either of them went?

That's an incredible time for a 'road' car. Also just goes to show what someone who knows how to drive can get out of the car. I'm 100% getting some tuition in the Alfa. There are many many seconds being left in the braking zones and corners that I need to release!!

I would totally recommend Rory
If I could just have him sitting in my passenger seat all the time I'd be so much faster!

I saw the snippet of video. Didn't look from that that Rory was wringing the neck of it either.

I'm waiting to get some times for a 2hr session with him in the next few weeks.

It certainly seems to be money worth spending.
I'm looking at tuition at the end of this yr/start of next in the Supercopa as plans are to do the full SMRC championship next year

i think alot comes down to the car and when i now look back on my stint i realise i didnt get much out of it other than an empty track. I think thats more to the specifics of driving a caterham tbh though for most normal cars be fine Smile

An incredible time for a saloon car, or any car for that matter.

Bit strange that people are astounded by it because its a road car, putting plates on it and keeping a handbrake and lights for an mot doesnt make it any less of a race car!!

I think people mean more that it is a road car which has been modified, rather than a purpose built race car

To put it in perspective, the factory GT3 V12 Vantage, running fully unrestricted so max grunt did a 50.4 in excellent conditions.

Aye... compare it to AG Focus

Focus - 1000bhp Space frame chassis
Impreza - adapted from road car with DIY aero and home brewed engineering. 1200bhp max, but was 700bhp for the 48s laps it would seem.
