£100k isn't close to doing it right in Clios.
£100k would cover car hire, 4 slicks (per round), insurance and team support for the 9 rounds (assuming block discount, round by round it's still short).
Then you need to add; travel and accommodation, race fuel, test days (test fee + car/team + consumables + tyres + fuel), insurance excess (£5000 per claim), wet tyres (2 laps on a drying track and they're fucked)
Good year with no major accidents, you could probably manage a competitive season for £150k. Speaking to guys that have done it, if you want to be at the sharp end, it's about testing testing testing.
Granted, that's for hire drive, do it with a homemade team, it'll be cheaper but when the team fee adds in things like a data analyst and other drivers to compare yourself against, it would be even tougher to get to the sharp end that way. _________________ 06 320Cd MSport - daily
