Yeah, phoned this morning, can't get me in for a couple of weeks which doesn't leave me much time to get any issues sorted.

This might be the dumbest of even my dumd ideas but can you use a smoke pellet?

You buy them in screw fix or plumbers merchants for smoke testing chimneys.

Funnily, I was thinking about that. You can buy cheap kits that pressurise the system so you can "hear" leaks.

Can't see what harm would be caused by shoving a smoke pellet in there too.

Any thoughts?

Spray small blasts of carb cleaner/electrical solvent near the suspect joints, if there is a leak cleaner/solvent will get sucked in by the vacuum and the engine will hunt slightly - leak found. Cool

Not yet mate. Got a kit to pressurise the system and will get busy with the Fairy liquid tonight.

Will report findings later!

Yeah, but think of the pretty bubbles!

Also, I have Fairy liquid but I don't have carb cleaner!
