Ive not tried anything yet but thinking about position of the camera do I put it:

- On the roof (I dont have a cage) how do i fix it to the roof etc... but good angle viewing outside and what I'm doing as well so I can use it as a learning tool.

- On the dash. Easy to mount and power but only have a view of outside. Still good for seeing lines, speed through corners, times etc... but not what im doing.

I've seen those for standard seat headrests but I have got bucket seats.

Will probably remove the head lining and fit the camera to where the middle roof light is.

There is a brief description of the SJ4000 Vs the SJ5000 here - http://pevly.com/sjcam-sj4000-vs-sj5000-difference/

Summary

If you are just a regular on budget user trying to capture video of your trips, surfing, playing soccer or anything else, SJ4000 is still the best option. Unless you need 60fps and slightly better video and do not want to stretch your budget beyond 170$ SJ5000 plus is the way to go. I would not recommend SJ5000 WiFi since it does not offer as much as Plus does, but does not recommend tremendously better features then SJ4000.

given the delay in VBOX HD2 methinks may need to get a cheap camera as regs require it.

so I now have a performance box and 2 of these cameras so once I figure out race render with luck I should have footage, with rear view PIP and telemetry all spliced together. At least that's the theory.

Does anyone make any changes to FOV and such like or really about trial and error. May have a fiddle during day as have the test day tomorrow.

Right so had two cameras and i didn't get chance to setup switches so had to switch on when I got in car -3gb files are fun. Anyhoo found that the front one was awesome and managed to capture me and windscreen area great and I will throw the first of my duffus spins up once race rendered it Smile

Rear one I need to mess about and possibly get better rollcage mount that's adjustable - also noticed it was very dark though miserable weather on saturday

I have an annoying issue with mine. It records the video in separate consecutive 315Mb files. Only issue is, each new file contains about 0.5s of frames from the previous file so you get a slight jump when you merge them together.

Quality is very good though.

Switch off the setting that limits it each to 3 minutes. Its loop recording set to off - only noticed as had laptop with me on Saturday

So many random settings and instructions pfft wdr? Wide dynamic range and may fix the overly dark video ad inside car http://www.axis.com/us/en/technologies/wide-dynamic-range methinks I need to go through all the settings

Then find decent rollcage mount for when rollcage is at weird angle

Most of my settings are from trial and error... and reducing the quality helps limit file size!
