I am in no way an expert, but with race cars, proven track record seems to be everything.

Track cars once built invariably sell for less than the sum of their parts and tend to be broken as they are built to an individual spec, to an unknown standard. Race cars on the other hand seem to sell for much nearer the sum of their parts and be sold complete once it's proven that they are reliable and capable of running near the front - indeed brand new cars often appear advertised by a builder who "built three of last years top 5 cars" or whatever.

I also think this is one of those "what its advertised at may not be what it sells for" situations, most of the deals Ive been aware of have involved money off/substantial spares package thrown in.

Whilst they may cover the sum of their parts, they rarely cover that plus anything like the cost to build them though Wink

No, absolutely, but then the same goes for any hobby tbh and certainly applies equally to track and race cars

Track cars are generally worth more as the sum of their parts, race cars with proper provenance the opposite..

Both can be worth considerable less than the cost to build them though Laughing
