I got it for the PS4. Prefer Project Cars for graphics, sound and car feedback/handling. |

I like them both. Project cars I've watched being developed and also bought into the game development at the start. I have a had a few <£50 dividends from them.
The simulator has not been used for a while. Might sell the lot as it takes up the best part of a room
Nixim Racecraft chassis with Cobra sports seat, Unused HPP Pedals http://www.hppsimulation.com/hpp-3-pedal/24-phtv2p.html Could do a deal with the ancillaries, fanatec steering wheels and pedals. I know you want this Adam lol

Approx cost of the rig to build, Probably more expensive
HPP Pedals £700
Race chasis and seet £1000
Steering wheel £400
Dashboard £100
Gear Stick £60
Triple montor stand £250
3 x 24" screens, Dell 2408 each run at 1920 x 1200 resolution. They were >£400 pound each when I bought them, a few years back right enough.
The Fanatec wheel does calibrate itself but I think it need some lub
Edit. PC not included
Adam price to you would be £500 to take it all away now.
Bargain for a high quality rig. _________________ My best attempt at a SMRC Race in a XR2, if only there was one more lap! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKEsh-m_y8s |

It didn't help me on the track I rolled wrecked my wee XR2., Spun off on my Subaru and spun of in an MX5. Broke a Radical SR3 drive shaft . But could run in the 1:04's in the XR2 after a few races.
I would say it would help your racing skills. Online racing against others is good for situational awareness. Getting used to racing lines. Trying out tracks before you visit them. The cars handle surrisingly well when you get used to the sims.
My Sims of choice ar iRacing and Project cars. I know Adam played iRacing, what do you think? _________________ My best attempt at a SMRC Race in a XR2, if only there was one more lap! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKEsh-m_y8s |

That is a very fair price. But I dont have a PC that would run it. |

I've had a bit of a brain fart.
I had a go this afternoon just to be sure everything worked. I had so much fun I'm going to keep the gear. Sorry guys. _________________ My best attempt at a SMRC Race in a XR2, if only there was one more lap! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKEsh-m_y8s |

I run it from my gaming laptop which has three HDMI output ports. Can run on very reasonable speed and graphics. Any newish PC would run it fine. The better the GPU the better it runs at higher resolution. You don't need so much RAM or the latest and greatest CPU.
I would recommend thrustmaster or Logitech or Fanatec for good quality cheap gear to get started. Fanatec is not that cheap. An obbuto chassis is a good price.
To be honest I've had so much fun racing sims, the gear has more than paid for itself. One early morning at 3am I had been racing all night, next thing everything goes dark nothing. Turns out my good lady wife had hit the main electric power switch just to ruin my fun grrr . Lost a fair bit of iRating after that.
The AI is pretty good in Project Cars. _________________ My best attempt at a SMRC Race in a XR2, if only there was one more lap! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKEsh-m_y8s |

Haha, no worries Straun.
Andy
IRacing - I used I racing for a few weeks before my first visit to Brands Hatch. I thought it actually helped a lot, especially with the track layout for example. Use the right car and the dynamics are pretty spot on, so I knew where to expect some issues.
The physics/dynamics of these sims have come a long way, and the feedback of good wheels is pretty good. If anything it actually smoothed my driving out a bit.... but that all went a bit pearshaped as usual - hot head etc _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

Well put. AK And on an important side when you wreck it only costs you some lost dignity not thousands of pounds.
Put it this way if you like real racing you will like the modern simulation software. _________________ My best attempt at a SMRC Race in a XR2, if only there was one more lap! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKEsh-m_y8s |
