As you may know i bought John F's car/trailer and the potted history of car is all at http://www.trackscotland.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8003. At a high level (to quote)

'Was properly built from a new car in 2005 by Vic Covey, with stitch welded chassis and all the right race prep, and has won the championship in Vics hand. Has been well looked after by Minimax Motorsport, oil changes for every race meeting, etc. Engine was replaced in 2012 and worked over by Craig Noble of Minimax to championship spec and has been a good strong engine with oils staying pretty clean before changes.

It was last out in 2013 where I finished with two 8th places even with my driving so in the right hands this would be a really competitive car'

Anyway as the car wasnt used for a year then i got Gerard Brady (runs performance tek and recommended by emicen) to look at it and give it the once over. Once i bought it took it straight to the garage so it could be re-commisioned as it were.

So far work done is:
timing chain tensioner replaced (cured ratchet like noise on startup
discs and pads replaced all round (mintex f4r race pads in front) (calipers were ok)
good clean up outside and engine bay
    Loose bodywork/trim being sorted

I thought about a re-spray and possible replacing any panel with damage but well its mini racing and i thought for the first season made more sense to stick with car as is and see how it pans out. Additionally gonna have performance tek support me on race days as well lazyness/lack of knowledge/lazyness and just coz

Pictures once its no longer got JF's name all over it Wink I decided to get rid of the Caterham as for me its now about racing and ultimately i think the best racing is in this class. We shall see how it works out.

slight annoyance with that as vbox hd2 isn't out end of march/start april and don't want to really get the existing vbox's. I am sure the solution is 'drive faster' anyhoo :p so I think will just get a cheap cam until its released

In the meantime you could get an app for your phone? Then you can see if there is anything useful in the data.

If you've got a 12v cigarette lighter socket you're more than welcome to borrow my Vbox.

Now you need to learn left foot braking and become deaf to the engine screaming 'change gear' just before it hits the rev limiter. Stock up on sikaflex, and chose a solid colour to make it easier/cheaper to repaint/touch-up.
You'll have great fun
