My best mate passed his test on Friday bought his first car today went to see him first thing he does is reverse it into mine! Mad

Thankfully only real damage was a broken number plate.

Next mods have started to arrive.

Got an autolight vw kit on the way and have bought a skoda yeti autolight switch (only one that will fit the fabia) already for it.

Also looking at changing the sound system and upgrading the stock speakers to focal access ones. We did look at putting a sub in but I don't wanna lose my boot space, also looked at putting it in the spare wheel well but the fabia one has a habit of leaking so found this which could be the next plan.

Got my autolight kit today and fitted all in.

An hour and a half later all the interior lights stopped working bar the needles and maxidot, the sidelights stopped working and the rear lights that light up when you put the headlights on wouldn't light up but all the other lights would.

Took the kit off still no joy. Thankfully Andymac came to the rescue. Discovered it was the light switch power supply fuse that went. Stuck in a 7.5 amp instead of the 5 and everything working again.

The guy I got the idea from lives not far from my sister in Newcastle and said to drop by when I'm down again so will probably do that.

Thank again Andy I really owe you one!

Anyone got any luck they want to give me?

Went to fit my new plate holders to find that the 4?! original fitting points weren't good enough for the dealer so they decided to make 2 more

Crying or Very sad

Ouch! I'm dreading taking off my back ones in case they have drilled the boot!

Finally I got my rear plates off and thankfully they didn't drill it!

The current screws were all rusted so as I tried to unscrew them they just fell apart so couldn't unscrew the plate.

Had to snap the plate off then pull the screws out but that stripped the inside of the white bungs.

which wouldn't pull out so had to take off the inside boot trim and push them out.

Then when putting in new screws there 5 million holes in the back but the screw wouldn't go through as there was a bit of plastic behind it, cut it a little screw went through got it attached but didn't notice the plastic bit I cut was rubbing against the white bung meaning it didn't have a seal so when I closed the boot it pinged off.

Cut it more so it wasn't rubbing and finally it's on 🙌🏻

Hope to never do this again!

Also stupidly bright LEDs number plate lights are great for working on the car at night Laughing

Also considering getting new wheels and after seeing this and wanting to stick with the oem look I'm tempted by spiders from the mk1 Octavia vRS

But I also want to do more trackdays and with mini tyres so cheap I'm swaying towards some 15 inch Audi A2 wheels

Also got some skoda valve caps

It's also getting around to a few meets aswell
