Ola

Curious to see if anyone here has had any experience with E mtbs primarily going down hill on trails etc i know there used to be a bit of a MTB community here

I've been thinking of purchasing the spezialised turbo Levo, not being completely lazy here I have been biking a few years now but recently my joints have started playing up swelling / fluid after most cycles... I ended up in crutches after ride the north 180 mile cycle. And more recently ended up with "kankles" after a sailing holiday....Sadly bit of a trait within the family

Big bit of cash to out lay for something which might be slow and difficult going down hill but easy up hill Confused

yea suppose more weight help go a bit quicker might be a bugger to slow it down

Just with being on my feet all day sailing then walking around the fishing villages etc by night time they just swell up

Edinburgh cycles in Aberdeen have them in stock and let you take for a 24 hour test ride might try and give that a shot next month

Sounds a good plan! Give me a shout if/when and I'll come out too (if home). Currently away again, but hoping to be home early Sept.

Still only been out once on my new bike!

e bikes are heavier but you can be careful about what you buy. You also have the issue of the weight distribution of the battery and the motor plus the extra wear and tear on the components. If the battery runs out then they are truly awful to peddle. They are not cheap though although quite a few manufacturers make them now.

How much were you thinking about spending?

OP

i bought a Specialised Kenevo last month. its the long travel version of the levo. i demoed a levo from bike remedy in stonehaven, ask for cristian, inhad a weekend demo for not very much.

its a total riot, motor off on the downs its fast. managed a few top ten times on the laggan enduro tracks on first runs.

even the levo feels very planted. yet surprisingly mobile for a 50lb bike. weight in the right place.

playing it right i was getting 4-6hra ridinng time out of the battery riding for fast enduro boys on enduro bikes. everyone of my pals who has ridden it, initial reaction is laughter, it makes more of what i enjoy.

the inly negative is the plus tyres that come wih r are shit. inripped he nobbles off one in an hiurnkn durris trails. surly dirt wizards been on as replacements which are spot on. i am just shy of 95kgs and 190cm tall so maybe weight based!

its not cheating, you still have to work, its assistance based. i am fighting my own health issues so it has helped me enjoy what i love

do it!
