Currently running e46 m3 standard rear diff ratio 3.91.

There is a possibility of using the M4 DCT gearbox with an adaptor etc which has a rear diff ratio of 3.42,

Am I going to find that I'm just constantly slamming through gears? I'm unsure of the ratios in the gearbox on the M4 DCT.

Any one decent with the maths etc to tell me the speeds etc rev limit 7500-8000rpm

Quite a long final drive that. E46 factory final was 3.62, "fast road" was 3.91 and "race" was 4.1, almost too short but brutal in the E46. Same for both manual and SMG.

I've driven an M4 DCT, ratios did not feel short at all, too long for track use unless at Silverstone imo, but that's with gearing for top speed. At Knockhill there would be at least 2 gears you'd never use. That is of course unless you are running Lego sized wheels Very Happy
