The plan is to keep the std Brembo brakes but fit uprated discs, what's the best to get? The current set up is std discs and rc5+ pads but the discs seem to have given up the ghost.
It's still not 100% set in stone as I may swap them out for another set up but at this very moment in time the plan is upgrade the discs and that's it. _________________ ND spec'd Evo 8

uprated discs will make very very little difference to braking ability.... maybe help longevity though.
Options...
1. Go bigger setup (~356mm). Dont discount KSport as 'crap', they work well.
2. Space out the Brembo caliper (using a spacer or spacers and longer bolts) and get larger discs.
Its the surface area of the disc that will give you more stopping ability _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

The Brembo caliper is crap at dissipating heat. If you can't stretch to an AP kit then wait till Alyn is back and give him a phone about the Alcon kits he can do you may be surprised at the deals he can do on the Alcon kits. |

I run the 365 kit on my Evo.
Can't go bigger than 330 with the wheels that I have Adam, 2 sets purchased already so financially I'll stick with them. I'll wait until Alyn is back and see what he says. _________________ ND spec'd Evo 8

Std sti wheels 7.5j roughly et35-42 iirc.
I suppose it depends on the design of the calipers and spokes but with the std Brembos there's literally a "baw hair" width left. _________________ ND spec'd Evo 8

Could even be et53.......
Either way I don’t think they’ll clear the bigger brakes. _________________ ND spec'd Evo 8

I used spacers to allow spokes to clear _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

You may well be surprised what fits under an STI rim, the standard Brembo caliper is wide in comparison to AP calipers and certainly Alcon's. I know Alyn has played with a lot of kits and wheel sizes/offsets. I sent one of my 17" Team Dynamics down and we would have been able to get a 356mm kit under it so I would hang off till you speak to him. |
