All of the above Laughing

To up my fitness, lose some weight for the racing season Very Happy Mini doesnt matter but will help in SLS where I'm mid class in Impreza (power/weight)

I recently got an IPhone... hate it, but like some of the crap that comes standard on it - Health app

I'm going to try and avg. 12000 steps per day over January.... with that, lose a bit of weight, not drink for a month etc. SO that works out at walking/running 10+km a day. Cycling doesn't count.

Last time I did something like this I think i lost 15kg :O whilst averaging 15km a day + some MTBing, but that was having to cook for myself for a good few months ... Laughing And starting at about 97kg. Will be happy with even a 3-4kg loss over month.

Anyone else up for it? No prizes... just benefits to yourself.

Will re-do the figures below for start of Jan when it arrives, then weekly updates..

AK:

Starting weight - 92.4kg (27th Dec)
Daily avg. steps this week - 12002
Daily avg. KM this week - 11.1km
Last alcohol consumed - 16th Dec

Good luck.

My fitness has went downhill, well to be precise my diet has. I'm currently doing a structured ftp programme with the cycling but my diet as usual is all over the place.

Currently I'm 90kg and this time 2yrs ago I was 71kg Shocked

I've went from cycling 300 miles per week to barely 100 miles, problem is I still eat as if I'm cycling all those miles.

My steps go up and down every day, just depending on what I'm doing and what the weather is like
Looking at last week I vary from 4,000 to 28,000

I used to average 15-18km a day when I was working so would like to get back to that

Walking Bruno should account for about ~12000 steps a day I think Smile Easily

No fancy technology, but I'm on a similar kick for January, firstly to get back down to racing weight (for me, 71kg, from my current 75kg) and secondly to help finally hit that 7a rock climb I promised myself I'd manage before the end of 2017.

Routine is:
No booze, sweets, or other junk.
Muesli, kefir and fruit in the morning. Whatever the hell I fancy for dinner.
Do my shopping on the bike instead of the car (c.5km per day)
5-10 mins on the fingerboard (basically hardcore pull-ups) every time I walk past it (c.3-5 times a day)
Couple of hours stretching + yoga per week.
2 2-3 hours sessions at the indoor wall per week

So...hopefully shift 5kg and improve the edge climb by 1-1.5 grades by end of Jan.

I'll join you Adam. I went from 108kg to 90kg from Dec15 - May16 when offshore went quiet.

I'm not back up to 99kg. New MTB is on order and it will be my daily dget around aswell as I'm car less.

Pan is to be >90kg by June

I dont drink a lot Laughing

I'm prob excising less just now than I would do when home... Same daily steps/km perhaps but nothing above that (bike etc).

1 big difference is the heat/humidity i'm exercising in... 2hrs of brisk walking in humid 30deg

I'm a bit the same, although it wasn't weight I dropped but more focused on body composition. 2015 I dropped down to 7.5% body fat at around 73kg, I was nearly 22% body fat and 78 kg before I started training. In 2016 I got back up to 76kg but remained under 10% body fat during that "bulking" phase.

Lately though I've definitely gotten a bit more "fluffy" ( re single life V's having a GF) and I've over indulged over Christmas for sure.

Back on it now, Mostly I do resistance training or weights, 5 days a week if I can. Lots of stretching/yoga too in between, usually in the living room on the foam roller while watching tv.

I try and follow as closely as I can, a structured diet and track my calories/Macros via my fitness pal, a free app available on any smart phone. Once you get your head around it I think it's good, helps you make better decisions food wise. Also try to drink around 3ltr of water a day. Dehydration is often masked as hunger, so if you're trying to cut back and feel hungry, always take a drink of water first.

I'm pretty sure that's the app (or a similar one) that Adam and I tried a while ago...
It kept telling us we had 'spare' calories so we ate loads more than usual because of it Laughing
Then you have one night out and boom, you can eat for a week!

I'm going to get in on this except substitute steps etc for my cycling and I'm contemplating throwing in some running and circuit training if I can, biggest issue is the diet.....I think I currently eat fo about 4 people Embarassed

I think it'll help me by tracking my progress, or lack of Rolling Eyes but slow and steady wins the race. I'll try and use myfitnesspal again for counting calories.

I'll have a weigh in tomorrow morning and see how it goes.
