Power To Weight Testing - HQ Garage

HQ Garage will close their Rolling Road from 20th to 28th July for refurbishment.

Any new competitors who wish to take part in rounds 4 & 5 of SLS on July 24/25th MUST have their power to weight test booked and carried out prior to the scheduled closure.

The 2015 Super Lap Scotland season is fast approaching and we are working hard behind the scenes to make this year the biggest yet!

In a bid to further improve parity across all six classes, the SLS team have had to make a difficult decision and restructure the way we test the power to weight ratio of competing vehicles. After much discussion, HQ Garage will become the only SLS test facility in 2015 and will provide power to weight certificates for all vehicles which take part in the series.

This may affect drivers who are travelling from further distances; however trips to HQ Garage can be tied in with visits to Knockhill track days/evenings, as they are based just 10 miles away from the circuit in Dalgety Bay.

The real positive that can be taken from this decision is that each vehicle will go through the same test, by the same person on the same rolling road, therefore leaving fewer variables that can change the outcome of your power reading.

Further to this, Smart Timing has upgraded their timing equipment for 2015 and have installed 3 speed traps around the circuit which will be monitored throughout the year and published between each session. Cars which are deemed to have large increases in performance between events will be scrutinised further and potentially retested at HQ Garage.

HQ Garage have been very helpful in providing two weekend dates for SLS testing days, where you can book in for your test at a much reduced price of £50.

The dates for the SLS open days at HQ Garage are as follows:

Saturday March 28th 9-5pm

Sunday April 12th 9-5pm

You can also book a midweek session with HQ Garage at the cost of £75 which is also reduced in price for SLS competitors.

SLS Awards Evening - 21st February 2015

Thanks you for being part of such a successful SLS Championship this year. We are hosting an awards evening on the 21st of February 2015 at the Queensferry Fife Hotel in North Queensferry, it would be fantastic if you and your supporters can join us on this evening to celebrate the season and our champions.
The evening will consist of a drink on arrival, 3 course meal, an awards ceremony and a disco. We will be presenting awards to the top three finishers in each class as well as the King of The Hill trophy and special awards.
The Queensferry Fife Hotel have agreed to provide rooms at the very reasonable rate of £50 for room bed and breakfast when you quote KNOCKHILL over the phone. This rate is only available if booked before the 1st February.
